In the early 1990's Vega Sicilia established Bodegas Alion, also in Ribera del Duero. Alion is 100% Tempranillo and although made and owned by Vega Sicilia the style and philosophy is entirely different. It is released as a young wine with around 3 years oak age and a ten year cellaring potential.
